Dr. Zahid Meo is a well-known Medical Technologist, healthcare innovator, and humanitarian who has dedicated more than 40 years of his life to serving others. He is the founder and chairman of the Meo Health & Educational Welfare Organization (MHEWO), a non-profit focused on providing free healthcare and educational support to underserved communities in Pakistan.
Dr. Meo began his journey in 1974 after completing his matriculation. While working full-time in government healthcare, he continued his education and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. His determination, hard work, and desire to help others led him to gain practical experience and professional training in various areas of medical science—both in Pakistan and abroad.
Over the years, Dr. Meo earned several international certifications, including registration as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in Canada. He also trained in Chinese alternative medicine and became one of the first healthcare professionals in Pakistan to promote integrative health methods. In 2005, he introduced Quantum Health Analyzer technology to Pakistan after researching its benefits for diagnosing chronic and neurological conditions. His early use of this technology brought relief to many patients and opened new paths in preventive care.
Dr. Zahid Meo has worked with respected institutions such as Social Security Hospital, Landhi, Dow Medical College, and Civil Hospital Karachi. He played a major role in the development of blood banking services in Pakistan. He was a founding member of the Fatimid Blood Bank, which became a lifeline for patients with conditions like thalassemia and cancer. With government support during General Zia-ul-Haq’s era, Fatimid became one of the first centers in Pakistan to develop blood products. Later, Dr. Meo also established Saba Blood Bank, which expanded to four branches in Karachi and served thousands before closing in 2000 due to financial challenges.
Dr. Meo believes strongly in giving back to the community. Throughout his career, he has organized free medical camps and wellness programs to provide healthcare access to those who cannot afford it. He focuses on raising awareness about the importance of early detection and preventive care—because he believes that “awareness saves lives.”
In 2017, his long-standing mission took formal shape with the creation of MHEWO. Through this organization, Dr. Meo continues to offer free mobile diagnostic camps, health screenings for schools and senior citizens, wellness education programs, and affordable services in rural and urban slums. His efforts aim to reduce health inequalities and improve lives across Pakistan.
Dr. Zahid Meo’s journey is one of dedication, innovation, and compassion. He continues to inspire others through his service and remains committed to creating a healthier, more informed future for all.
“My journey is built on service, sacrifice, and sincerity. Every achievement is for the people.”
